I've finished the Kingdom of MEI and it's not like any other book. It's the first book of scifi/fantasy which really grounds itself in buddhist teachings and thought.

Kingdom of MEI - Trilogy

The trilogy version combining the first three books is now available. It's 225 pages since it doesn't have any of the artifact pictures. The first book - the kingdom of mei - was a bit shorter at only 66 pages so the full trilogy is one reasonably sized book as opposed to a more short story.

I will release the companion book which has all the archaeological pictures and more detailed discussion so that it can be printed with full color plates. And then a special hardcover printing of the two book set will make a nice endnote to the series and all the effort of the past two years.

Here is the final cover and back cover. I hope you like it. You can order it HERE

My AmaZon author page

It should list book 4 soon.. in like 48 hours.

http://www.amazon.com/Gianna-Giavelli/e/B0082GSNSA

Princess of MEI weighs in at 110 pages... Whew!

Seven re-writes and edits later...

It has a lot of good meat on its bones. And over 40 plates of rare manuscripts that relate to the story. It's such a more serious read than Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol. It's breadth is much greater into prehistory and real artifacts and real mysteries and symbols. I'm quite proud of it!

Finishing up the "Jazz Babies" album

It's still coming together, a few more songs to go. Most are original as always.

You can listen here.... I have the next song going up soon.

The cover... for the 2nd book

I think it came out well. Thoughts??? Chime in...

Here is the cover of the first book...

And here is the cover of the second. I think it's much nicer. The pattern relates to part of the story.

The Princess of MEI - Book 2 in the MEI Series - is now done!

Ugh. After a lot of sleepless nights I finally finished the second book in the MEI series. It's an amazing story and only 66 pages! I'm always shocked that Potter is 787 pages and says so little and is meant for fifth graders whereas my book is tiny, says so much, and is a mind opener for fifth graders, college students, college professors, and old men. My friend said "Gia you say more in ten pages than Rowling says in a 1000" it has me wondering how many real readers slogged through the 787 pages of the last harry potter book I certainly couldnt I got extremely bored and lost it even giving it five re-starts and couldn't make it. I am however a huge fan of the MOVIES and for getting the premiss there I do give J.K. Rowling five stars. Just don't ask me to actually read through one of her messes.

I think it works well as a kindle edition, its a easy bedtime read.. .and if your brain isn't spinning and you can sleep that is.

And most importantly our hero FINALLY has a name.

The second book does not stay strictly in the first person, instead it switches back and forth depending on the perspective. I don't think many books do that and it's an interesting technique.

It covers the flower of life pattern etched into the hard granite floor at Abydos, secrets at the vatican, the early story of st. Peter and his key, the meaning in snowflakes, the precession cycle of the constellations and the zodiac and how they relate to the christian church, just so much.  So whereas the first book was so much about the journey to first awakening, the second book is a hold onto your hat jump into the true meaning of things, all the while against the backdrop of two horrific meanies GruuM and his brother whose name you can't even pronounce and is a horrific shadow.

My first readers say they immediatly went back and read the first book then the second book again so they could put it all together.

And I have this to say... be warned... the third book will have your tongue sticking out of your mouth the whole way through because it is going to be a shocker from every last page.

I've Started the 2nd Book in the Kingdom Of Mei series!!!

Well the second book is called "The Princess of Mei" and after our hero returns to finish his last year of high school.... an entourage from MEI is sent to yell at him for failing to build the temple. We soon realize that MEI time and real world time are moving at different rates. A mysterious princess is accompanied by an even more elusive old monk. But before he meets them, he encounters 2 new transfer students to the school -Goldar and Thundruk - who reek of pure evil. They each have black icicles that vibrate and if you are touched with them its god aweful painful. But before they can fully subdue our hero (finally NAMED in this new book!) the princess grasps a cube around her neck - and the whole area vibrates and shakes apart stunning the evil duo. We learn that this new element - vibranium - is very rare and only three cubes exist. The hero is given one, and the princess and the monk hold the other two. They can cause slipstream time, or localized areas where time goes faster... which makes it possible to accomplish much more over a day.

The hero is tasked to building the temple and he goes up for the weekend on some land and when the princess and monk visit they are horrified to find that it is just a bunch of twigs nailed together. They send "the hero" back to finish out his school year and take on the task themselves, using the powers of the vibranium. When he arrives back after graduation.... his mouth hangs open shocked beyond belief by what his eyes see.

In the princess of Mei we learn there is a new generation of evil monks, who use the imperfect slag crystals of vibranium to torment humans and take control of human cities even countries. If the three crystals can be forged together... a triangle of pure vibranium crystal - powerful enough to shatter all the slag crystals and send the evil monks back into hiding - will be created.  But to do that, they must learn much more about the old buddhist ways and magic.
