Anthropic a spinoff from OpenAI just received 124 million in funding from super angels like Erich Schmidt. The founder - Dario Amodei - has a background in physics and biophysics. Somehow he got to research director of OpenAI. The problem is, if OpenAI produced only CRAP with terrible 1980s architecture ala Hinton, then isn't that referent on Amodei's ability?
Nope! Throw them more cash. More money. Cause they had the titles at google or google spinoffs. Certainly if we do the dumb thing we did with openAI all over again with the same people we will get better results.
So the question goes to you Dario, will you continue being stupid and develop sophmoric tensor archictures from the 80s and then complain that doing responsible AI is impossible with these Architecture?
Noonean has been doing more advance neural architecture without planar tensor approachs and using language modeling combined with neural networks for years now. Where's our $125M ?
