I was talking with a police officer after the corner store had been ransacked. everything had been taken even things which were bolted down were taken; but then I looked and oddly enough there was a section of books that still had all the books. The sunscreen section was chock-full of everything not one had been pilfered. And while all the sneakers were gone there set row after row of work boots and work gloves untouched.
"It's the same at every robbery and looting we see" replied the officer
I walked down the street surveying the damage as storefront after storefront had its window smashed in, get there at the center of it all the town bookstore untouched.
